Need for Speed SHIFT Falken, also known as Need for Speed Shift Falken, takes the idea of racing games and turns it on its head. The Need for Speed franchise went through some problems in recent years, and fans complained that the series lost its edge, which is what made it popular in the first place. With this new game, the manufacturer hopes to recreate the glory of the best games in the series.

Designed for racing game enthusiasts, it combines great special effects with realistic game play. The game literally puts the player in the driver's seat and gives them a glimpse of everything they might see while sitting in the car. You can see all the controls as well as the action on the street. It's easily the most realistic entry into the Need for Speed franchise.

Players can choose from one of five exclusive cars to drive in this demo game, which includes the Falken Porsche GT3 RSR. Though it isn't the first time a Porsche appeared in one of these games, it does mark the first time that players can drive a Falken Porsche in the game. Players also have access to two different tracks, which lets them hit the race circuit from the comfort of their homes.

While some players will love this game, it is best for those looking at something that feels familiar but is a little different. Frequent players of the Need for Speed games will often find that the game feels repetitive and relies heavily on the same graphics and situations found in the other games. If you ever went through an intense accident in one of the other games, you'll find that the accidents presented in this one are fairly similar.

That doesn't mean that the game is bad. Need for Speed Shift Falken is an interesting little demo that recreates the excitement of the original games in a new way. Though the race tracks and situations are fairly similar, there's something about climbing behind the wheel of a Falken Porsche and hitting the virtual streets that you won't want to miss. It's clear that the makers and designers of the game took their time designing every element of the game. From the race track workers walking across the track and prepping cars for the start of the race to the console inside the cars, every element has that realistic look that players crave.

While Need for Speed Shift Falken won't replace the other games in the franchise, the demo offers a fun break for those taking a break from the series and for those with an interest in the Falken Porsche.
